Periodontal Maintenance

Periodontal maintenance scaling is needed to maintain gum and bone health.  This treatment includes removal of plaque and tartar from above and below the gum line, all the way down the length of each tooth to where the root, gum and bone meet.  This treatment is especially important for patients that have periodontal disease that resulted in bone loss, gum “pockets” deep than 4mm, bleeding gums, exposed root surface or past periodontal surgery.
